Open Groups: Fall 2008These groups meet at various times and locations throughout the week, providing the opportunity for spiritual growth and fellowship in a setting that helps foster deeper relationships. Mixed groups are for married and singles of all ages. There are also specific groups for men and for women. Sunday Evening Mixed Dinner/Discussion Group meets from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fellowship. Participants share a pot luck meal together and then break into small groups for Bible study. Our topic this fall is: "To Walk and Not Grow Weary". This is a study of various Bible characters focusing on how God helps us to deal with difficult life situations. Child care available makes this group popular with couples who have small children. The group usually chooses a book to study from a contemporary Christian author focusing on growth in our relationship with the Lord. Tuesday Evening Mixed Dinner/Discussion Group meets for dinner at 6:30 p.m. and meets for Bible study from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. We meet at 489 Copeland St., Brockton. Friday Evening Mixed Young Families Bible Study meets every other Friday at 32 South Main St. in Berkley. This is a laid-back-format Bible study in a kid-friendly atmosphere. Bring some dinner, and the kids, to fellowship together as families, followed by a time of Bible study. Women's Sunday Evening Group meets from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. starting September 7th. Do you want to balance all the activities in your present schedule? Do you long for a simpler life? How willing are you to work at modifying the out-of-control, out-of-balance areas of your life? "Balancing the Active Life" is a 13-week interactive Bible study. Together we will find encouragement, hold each other accountable and learn what it takes to balance life. Women's Monthly Fellowship and Bible Study will meet one Monday a month from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 22nd in Room 1. If you are a woman who is new to the Fellowship over the past few years and has not yet begun to attend any of the small groups, we invite you to begin your journey with us! It seems everyone has busy schedules and little opportunity to meet with other Christian women for simple things like sharing a meal, studying together, sharing victories and struggles, praying for each other and connecting with new friends. Our first meeting will be informal, to review format, Bible study materials and to answer questions. Registration fee is $10 to cover the cost of materials. Mom's Book Club invites all moms who are interested in reading a book on Christian parenting and discussing it together over dessert and coffee. On Thursday, Sept. 25th the topic will be: "Everyday Talk: Talking Freely and Naturally about God with Your Children" by John Younts. On Thursday, November 13th the topic will be: "The Five Love Languages of Children" by Gary Chapman. Men's Thursday Night Group at the Fellowship meets at the church every other week from 7 to 9 p.m. The focus of this group is providing men encouragement and practical instruction in how to be successful dads and husbands. Men's Wednesday Night Bible Study meets at 6 Sanlin St. in Norton from 7-9pm. The focus of the group is fellowship, in-depth Bible study in the gospel of Luke, and prayer. Men's Saturday Morning Promise Keepers group meets at the Fellowship from 7:30 to 9 a.m. focusing on helping men grow in obedience in their God given responsibilities. These groups are designed to help you meet the challenges of divorce and separation and help you move toward rebuilding your life.
